A Douglas teenager will be sentenced next month after admitting carrying a machete-style knife in public.
Morgan John Ritchie of Derby Road appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted possessing an offensive weapon and assaulting a police officer on February 16 on North Shore Road in Ramsey.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing an off-duty officer challenged the 17 year old after spotting him with the 12-inch blade in his hand.
When another officer arrived Ritchie, who was drunk, spat in his face.
There was no bail application and magistrates remanded him in custody to appear in court again on April 1.
