Roads are always inspected by the Department of Infrastructure before workers install cats eyes.
So says Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall, who faced questions about the work in the House of Keys this week.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse claimed some road surfaces hadn't been checked, leading to poor-quality installations.
Mr Crookall said he wasn't aware of any particular incidents, but admitted sometimes problems could crop up:
