Big Swim Raises Over £4000 and Counting For Balla Africa Charity
Over the weekend a massive charitable effort was successfully completed raising money for the locally formed charity Balla-Africa.
9 people swam 47 miles across the Irish Sea from Barrow-in Furness through to Laxey in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the Charity which aims to help out aids orphans in poverty stricken parts of Africa.
So far over £4000 has been raised you can get involved at www.ballaafrica.org.uk/donate.htm.
We spoke to organiser Brett Cullen, he said despite the perfect weather to begin with the team had to contend with numerous problems on their way to Laxey beach.
