Sun worshipers urged to stay safe this summer!

Over exposure to the sun can cause heat exhaustion, heat strokes and in some cases can be a contributing factor to skin cancers

With schools set to break up on Friday parents taking their children away on holiday are being given some timely reminders from the St John Ambulance service.

They’ve launched a UK wide campaign urging people to stay safe in the sun outlining the numerous complications and heat-related illnesses that can arise due to over exposure.

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are the most common issues they’re raising awareness too, they say avoidance comes down to common sense and drinking plenty of water.

Dehydration, fainting, sunburn and cramp are also commonly associated problems with some cases over exposure to the sun even resulting in skin cancer down the line.

For further information you’re urged to contact St John Ambulance Isle of Man on 674387.
