Winter sunlight focused through a glass lamp sparked a fire at a house in Colby yesterday.
Firefighters were called to Cronk-Y-Thatcher shortly before 11pm last night when the householder arrived home to find it full of smoke.
A spherical glass bedside lamp set fire to a paperback book and table.
Fire crews took 45 minutes to deal with the blaze, and nobody was injured during the incident.
