Treasury Minister Alf Cannan says a tax on sugary soft drinks won't be introduced this year.
In his budget speech this week, he revealed plans to bring in the tax have been pushed back until April 2019.
The Isle of Man had initially planned to follow in the footsteps of the UK and introduce the levy later this year.
However, delays in the UK will mean plans are held back by at least a year.
