The first Isle of Man licensed satellite has been succesfully launched.
The ViaSat-1 satellite will operate in geostationary orbit from an Isle of Man registered position at 115 Degrees West over the equator.
It is the highest capacity satellite in the world and is designed to transform the economics and quality of service for satellite broadband.
Alex Downie Alex Downie MLC, who has responsibility for the space sector sent his congratulations to ViaSat, Telesat, and to ManSat, adding that the government; "was proud to play their part in supporting such a ground breaking project.”
