 
                                    An Onchan MHK will put forward a public petition in Tynwald next week calling for tuition fee plans to be scrapped.
Peter Karran will present the petition on behalf of students Ben Ingham and Sam Turton who both live in his constituency.
They’re objecting to plans to change the Student Award Regulations which would see young people forced to pay £2,500 per year in fees.
The duo say if the decision if approved it will erode the principle that education should be received on the grounds of merit rather than the ability to pay for it.
