Reducing waiting lists at the hospital is proving 'increasingly difficult' and significant investment is needed to rectify the problem.
That's according to the Department of Health which is blaming a lack of resources.
In 2011 a working group was set up to evaluate demand and capacity in the health service - yesterday the group updated Tynwald Members on the progress being made.
It's found that while some waiting times for outpatients have been lowered - waiting times remain high for specialities like dermatology and ENT, and others have increased - such as pain management.
