The Chief Minister says new proposals to streamline government’s structure and strengthen policy will generate cost savings.
Next week Tynwald members will be asked to vote on proposals to modernise the existing framework and cut down the number of separate government organisations.
A raft of changes mean there will be less departmental posts available for MHKs.
Currently an MHK’s basic salary is just under £38,000 – those who work within departments can earn around £10,000 more.
