Douglas Council is asking people not to put knives in recycling boxes.
It says recycling crews were put at risk again during their rounds earlier today - and says such incidents have to stop.
Someone left a number of knives in the box, leaving staff risking injury.
The local authority says sharp items should be taken to the Civic Amenity Site and put in the metal skip.
