There may be a positive development in the ongoing dispute between the Steam Packet Company and Nautilus International.
Representatives from both sides have met to try and make progress in the long running disagreement over terms and conditions.
As it stands the workers are currently taking part in action short of strike, which has led to only one sailing a day being made possible.
The Steam Packet Company have said they will withdraw notice letters sent to the striking workers in December, in exchange for Nautilus to agree to bring an end to their industrial action with immediate affect.
Follow up meetings are scheduled for 15th and 16th January, after which the Steam Packet have said they will go to arbitration through the Manx Industrial Relations Service if no agreement has been reached.
