Steam Packet hopeful to have Manannan back to full power this week

The Steam Packet has confirmed that repairs to the damaged gearbox on their Manannan vessel are progressing well during the ships downtime in the adverse weather.

Fastcraft sailings are cancelled again today due to severe weather conditions.

 

The components for refitting the gear box were shipped over from Germany, work began on Sunday night.

Testing procedures will commence in the next operational voyage.

The Steam Packet have said if all goes well the boat will be back to full power by the end of the week.
