Cancellation will surely have an inevitable knock-on effect for the local tourism industry, says Steam Packet Chief Executive.
The Steam Packet has said they are disappointed to learn of the cancellation of Rally Isle of Man 2011.
It was announced last week that the popular event would not be taking place this year with the promoters citing the date change they had to deal with as a main reason.
Chief Executive of Steam Packet Mark Woodward has said they are saddened by the news, saying its cancellation will surely have an inevitable knock-on effect for the local tourism industry.
Commenting on the change of dates he said he feels the lower rates for travel would have encouraged more visitors to the event, with competitors benefiting from discounted package deals.
More details on the future of the event are not yet known.
