Stabbing accused in court

A man accused of carrying out a stabbing in the Island’s capital has been remanded in custody.

Thomas James McBurnie of Cronk Y Berry in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on June 19 in the area of Bucks Road.

He hasn’t yet entered a plea to the allegation, which can only be heard before the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

There was no bail application and he was remanded in custody until a committal hearing takes place on August 15.
