Spotlight on Early Years education at BIC meet

Early Years education has been put under the spotlight at the British-Irish Council Summit.

The Chief Minister and Education and Children Minister attended the meet in Cardiff last week.

The 28th BIC event brought together the governments of the UK, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.

Howard Quayle says he was 'particularly pleased' that the subject of early education was on the agenda as it was one of the issues highlighted as a priority for the new Programme for Government.

That was presented to Tynwald in November.

Minister Graham Cregeen says he welcomed the opportunity to collaborate on, and share, Early Years policy and practice across all other member countries.
