The Strand Shopping Centre says it will soon 'communicate plans' which will give people a 'better understanding' of changes at the retail unit.
It's refuted criticism that the treatment of tenants has been 'disgraceful' and says Sports Direct is not to blame for a number of retailers making an exit.
Responding to comments on Facebook the Strand Shopping Centre said claims that HMV is leaving because the sports retailer doubled the unit rent are 'inaccurate'.
It also said it 'did not want Mothercare to vacate the centre' claiming it was the baby store's decision not to renew its lease.
The Strand Shopping Centre says Sports Direct will shortly invest heavily in 'much needed redevelopment' and whilst it's 'not everyone's choice' it is supporting the Island in difficult times.
It says more information will be submitted shortly with the delay due to the centre 'respecting the wishes of the tenants vacating'.
