A company's applied to build six houses on land behind a pub on Douglas Promenade.
Elliott Construction of Lonan has applied for permission to build the homes on land behind the Queen's Hotel.
The proposed properties would all have four-bedrooms and parking.
In its application, Elliott Construction says it would remove 17 sycamore and holly trees to build townhouses on piled foundations.
The company also says an impact assessment shows the value of the trees on the site on Switzerland Road to be "relatively low".
