A feud between two commissioners in Onchan is threatening to become a legal issue, according to the board.
Minutes from the local authority's last meeting in August show one member was criticised for behaving disrespectfully towards a member of the public.
A debate ensued where their poor conduct was said to have played out in public, bringing the body into disrepute and damaging its reputation.
Some members wanted those responsible to be publicly named - however, that didn't happen.
