Shoprite is joining other retailers in giving priority shopping time for vulnerable people amid mass panic-buying on Island.
The chain says on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8am-9am it will open only for those over the age of 70 so they can get essential items without worrying about large crowds.
The measures are being put in place at the organisation's outlets at Little Switzerland; Bridson Street in Port Erin; Bowring Road in Ramsey; Derby Road in Peel and Village Walk in Onchan.
Shoprite is asking other customers to respect the new request to make sure all members of the community can purchase what they need.
