Chief Executive Retracts Comments Made About Shoprite Moving to Mezeron
Amid worrying times for the Steam Packet, Chief Executive Mark Woodward has issued a statement apologising to Shoprite for comments made earlier in the week.
Despite initial reports that Shoprite had joined Tesco in taking all of their freight operations to Mezeron, it has since transpired that they are still a valued customer of the Steam Packet.
Mr Woodward said he wishes to withdraw any suggestion to the contrary, whilst also recognising the significant contribution Shoprite make to the Island’s economy by employing over 600 Manx workers.
