The number of sexual offences on Island has increased by 18% over the past year.
According to the Chief Constable's Annual Report, the increase was driven by the number of people having the confidence to come forward.
A local sexual assault referral centre is expected to open next year, with predictions it will likely lead to a doubling in reports.
In 2021-22 there were 26 recorded rapes, ten of which remained under investigation at the end of the year.
