Port St Mary lifeboat went to the rescue of a trapped gull on Friday.
The volunteers spotted the herring gull in difficulty in the village's harbour.
When they investigated, they found it was tangled in discarded fishing line, with hooks in its mouth and wings.
They carefully freed the bird, and handed it over to Manx Wild Bird Aid, who say it's now recovering well.
