Scientists from the Island's Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture will monitor bathing water quality across local beaches this winter.

This includes seven of the Island's beaches:

  •  Castletown - Designated
  •   Douglas Central - Designated
  •  Glen Wyllin
  •   Port Erin - Designated
  •  Port St Mary (Chapel Beach) - Designated
  •   South Ramsey - Designated

DEFA says the chosen spots include five bathing waters which are already designated for weekly summer monitoring and two under consideration.

Samples will only be taken when it is safe to do so - you can see the results here
