Schoolteacher marks highly in southern constituency

School teacher Jason Moorhouse has marked highly in the south of the Island.

He secured 1,066 votes to top the poll in Arbory, Castletown and Malew in the early hours of this morning.

The second seat went to former Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen who secured 991 votes.

Speaking to the station before the election Mr Moorhouse said he's the right man for the job:

Former Rushen MHK Phil Gawne, who had moved constituencies due to the boundary changes, lost his seat after 13 and a half years in Manx politics.
