Royal couple complete Manx visit

Despite the miserable weather Prince Charles and Camilla have successfully carried out their engagements.

The couple attended the NSC in Douglas at lunchtime where they met members of the Isle of Man Cycling Club and world champion Peter Kennaugh and Ben Swift.

Battling the wind and rain, Charles, who was joined by the Lieutenant Governor and his family, started an outdoor cycle race with the Duchess waving the chequered flag.

Escorted by police the pair then moved onto Peel where they met local food producers and members of the RNLI and emergency services.

Speaking to 3FM Dot Tilbury, who organises the cycling club, said everyone had enjoyed meeting the royal couple (see audio).

The pair were then swiftly back on a plane and arrived in Belfast around 4.30pm for more engagements.
