Ronaldsway record small rise on August passenger numbers

0.5% increase is a \'pretty solid outcome\' says Airport Director

Ronaldsway have seen continued growth throughout August on the same month last year, albeit by a minimal amount.

Last month saw just a 367 passenger number increase to 65,964, signifying just over 0.5% rise on the previous year.

It was hoped that the numbers would have been larger but the continued squeeze on UK home budgets has again flattened any expected growth for the peak summer months.

Airport Director Ann Reynolds commented saying market conditions especially for regional routes remain relatively flat, however she also said to maintain 2010 levels in the current climate is a pretty solid outcome.
