The Island will remember the founder of the RNLI next weekend with a special service in Douglas.
The Annual Commemorative Service in honour of Sir William Hillary will be held at St George's Church on Sunday, January 13.
The event gets underway at 3pm, after which there'll be a wreath laid on his tomb in the churchyard.
The service is open to the public, and a reception will be held at the South Douglas Old Friends Association on Finch Road afterwards.
