Douglas could be getting a new lifeboat station, if a new planning application from the RNLI is approved.
The organisation has applied to turn a shop unit on the Tongue in Douglas Harbour into a new facility.
Last year it was revealed the station on Battery Pier had operated well beyond its life expectancy, had a problem with its winch and the volunteer crew were using a temporary facility.
The new plans show two floors of the building, near Douglas Bay Yacht Club, would be used for operations in the capital.
