An Island animal charity says it looked after almost 500 cats and kittens last year.
The ManxSPCA says its cattery took in 491 felines - the highest figure for 12 years.
On Facebook, it says 20 cats who came in as strays were later reunited with owners.
However, less than half of the strays brought into the Foxdale cattery were microchipped.
