The inquest into the death of local racer David Jukes has found he died from blunt force trauma to his thorax.
The 46-year old Douglas man died following a high speed crash in the first Southern 100 practice session on July 8th.
The registered nurse was pronounced dead upon arrival at Noble's Hospital after medical crew tried resuscitation techniques for 45 minutes.
A postmortem revealed Mr Jukes had also sustained injuries to his head, neck and abdomen.
The Coroner of Inquests passed his condolences on to his family and released his body so that funeral arrangements could be made.
