17 Year Old Girl Recognised for Heroic Actions
Ramsey Grammar School student Paige Goldsmith was today presented with the Royal Humane Society Award for saving a man's life.
It dates back to last August when Paige's selfless and mature response to finding a collapsed man on Ballure Beach in Ramsey ensured he lived to see another day.
Unbeknownst to Paige the man had taken an overdose of sleeping tablets
mixed with alcohol and was waiting to drown in the incoming tide.
Chief Constable Mike Langdon was on hand to present Paige with the award, he said there is no doubt without her involvement the man would have drowned.
