David Ashford has been elected as the new Speaker of the House of Keys this afternoon.
Rob Callister proposed him for the role and Jane Poole-Wilson seconded the motion.
Newly elected MHK Richard Henthorn has also been elected as Deputy Speaker.
The House of Keys will now elect a Chief Minister in two weeks’ time on Tuesday, October 13.
