A man is alleged to have taken used clothing and replaced the labels with more expensive price tags before taking them to Marks and Spencer for a refund.
Andrew Corrie, of Lakeside Road, Douglas, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 53-year-old - a retail worker with another company - offered no plea to three counts of fraud by false representation on May 23 last year and January 22 and February 24 this year.
Mr Corrie is alleged to have asked for refunds on worn clothes which had the labels replaced with more expensive ones.
The court heard the total amount claimed was £459.
He was bailed on condition he does not enter the Marks and Spencer store in Douglas, and will appear again on June 13.
