The public is being urged to take care of the Island's 'gentle giants'.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it's reminding people of their responsibilities following recent sightings of basking sharks.
They're currently protected under the 1990 Wildlife Act, and often visit the Island's water in the warmer months.
The department says people must behave sensibly if they encounter the protected animals.
