Government is looking for a group of residents to help discussions over climate change.
Officials are looking for 12 people to join the Citizens’ Forum on Climate Change - which will give members of the public with views for or against climate action the chance to be involved in the Island's response to the issue.
If selected to join the team, members will hear balanced evidence from a wide range of people including academics, researchers and campaigners before sharing their views with the Climate Change Transformation Board.
Anyone can apply to the citizens’ forum and be a representative for their community - the 12 selected applicants will join a further 24 members that will be invited to join or selected at random from the electoral register.
Chair of the forum, Ralph Peake MHK, says: "This is a unique opportunity, and a hugely important one, to not only ensure we have the views of, and engagement with, our Island community but also to provide a platform to challenge government’s approach.
"It is my hope that we can get a good mix of representatives that includes those with strong views for or against climate action as well as those that are yet to form an opinion. With a diverse forum we can be better positioned to represent the Island as a whole."
Anyone wishing to get involved is asked to visit www.gov.im/citizensforum, e-mail climatechange@gov.im or call 07624 207 011 with the deadline for applications on Sunday, October 11.
