A treasured community room for those living in sheltered housing in the south of the Island has received a much-needed revamp.
After a donation of £4,000, the Sandfield building at the heart of Castletown and Malew Elderly Persons complex has been refurbished, to the delight of residents.
Redecorated, with cleaned carpets and new artwork, the room hosts a number of classes and events throughout the week, as well as providing a community hub for residents.
Funding for the refurbishment was awarded by the Southern Authority Healthcare Trust, a body managed by local and national politicians.
A small celebration to mark the refurbishment was held in the new space on Thursday night (24 Jan).
