Remand for man accused of assaulting girlfriend

A Douglas man has been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison after being accused of punching his girlfriend in the face.

30-year-old Geoffrey Ronald Barber, of Mona Drive, appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.

He's been charged with an offence of GBH - it allegedly happened at the couple's flat on March 18th.

The court heard the alleged victim, who is 23, suffered an injury to her eye.

An application for bail was refused - he was remanded at the Jurby facility for a week and will next appear in court on March 28th.
