Rate of inflation drops

The Island's annual rate of inflation has dropped.

As measured by the Consumer Prices Index it now stands at 1.3 per cent - down from 1.9 per cent in July.

The rate measured by the Retail Prices Index also fell and now stands at 2.6 per cent - down from 3 per cent.

Excluding housing costs the annual rate of inflation shown by the RPI is 3 per cent for August that's up 0.7 per cent from the previous month.
