A Ramsey woman has been fined and banned from the roads after admitting drink- driving.
At Douglas Courthouse 67 year old Linda Joyce Meier of Balleigh Court in Ramsey admitted drink driving when she appeared before magistrates.
Prosecution advocate Barry Swain told the hearing police had spotted her driving erratically along Peel Road in Douglas at 11.40pm on Saturday, December 8.
They stopped her outside Braddan School after seeing her swerve from side to side and drive straight over the Quarterbridge roundabout.
She failed a roadside breath test, and a later blood test showed she was between one and a half and twice the legal limit.
Her advocate told the court Meier had drunk two vodkas that night during a gig at the British Hotel in Douglas - and a patron had given her a glass of champagne afterwards.
Magistrates fined Meier £1,000 and banned her from driving for two years as well as ordering her to attend a drink-drive course and pay £125 costs.
