Ramsey Swing Bridge will remain closed for another month.
The Department of Infrastructure says it has completed an initial inspection of the bridge.
It says it found defects with the timber which support the road surface on the northern causeway leading to the bridge.
Whilst the bridge is being checked over it will remain available to pedestrians and cyclists and it will be swung open as usual to give access to the inner harbour to boats.
