Unforeseen problems with Ramsey Swing Bridge means it'll be shut for another two months.
The bridge was shut for engineers to carry out an inspection of the bridge and plan for repairs in future.
But the department says it's now found other areas of concern and will close the route until it can be repaired.
It is still open to pedestrian and cycle traffic, and will operate as normal to let vessels use the inner harbour.
