Ramsey retailers say road closures have 'decimated' trade

Retailers in Ramsey say trade is being "decimated" by government's decision to keep closing the Mountain Road. 

Angry shopkeepers have taken to social media to voice their concerns about the main arterial route being shut again tomorrow - one says the stretch of tarmac is being used as a "playground".  

Chris Blatcher is the chairman of the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce - he doesn't' feel the Department of Infrastructure understands the impact closures have: 

He says whilst retailers are in support of many of the events which bring footfall to the town - including Cyclefest - they don't feel communication with the department has been good enough:
