6 Months On From Nightlife Closure Figures Of Anti Social Behaviour Continue To Drop
There’s been a major downturn in crime figures in Ramsey as a direct knock on of the closure of the towns one and only nightclub.
Nightlife closed its doors 6 months ago and the Police have said cases of public disorder and criminal damage offences have been on a steady decline ever since.
The notoriously busy months for anti-social behaviour are traditionally October, November and December; the figures show however that they remained practically incident free.
Inspector Richard Power has said from a policing point of view the downturn has been very positive for the town in many respects, but the closure has also been very damaging to the nighttime economy, with more people opting to make the journey to Douglas.
He also attributes the positive crime stats to the closure of a popular sit in take-away, which was commonly visited by people once they’ve left nightlife.
It’s not yet known what the future holds for the now dormant club.
