Race experts have said that Mark Cavendish’s hopes of winning the Green Jersey in the Tour De France all rest on victory in today’s Stage 4 event.

This circuit will suit Cav as there’ll be a sprint finish, the second of its kind so far, his plans of taking the first stage were foiled when he lost valuable time after coming off his bike.

Tour sprint legend Erik Zabel reckons Mark Cavendish's dream of winning the green jersey may already be over already however – he currently has a 62-point deficit to overturn.
