A Douglas man’s appeared in court charged with driving dangerously just weeks after he passed his test.
Paul Thomas O’Driscoll of Lower Dukes Road admitted the offence when he appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Barry Swain said other motorists complained after three risky overtaking manoeuvres on the Mountain Road just after 6pm on May 21, adding O’Driscoll passed his driving test on March 13 and repeatedly broke the 50mph limit for R-plate motorists during the incident.
One driver said he thought he was going to die in a head-on crash as he saw the 20 year old’s white Vauxhall Corsa coming straight at him.
Magistrates adjourned the case while pre-sentencing reports are prepared.
They bailed O’Driscoll to appear again on September 12.
