Public's views invited on Michael land swap

The Committee set up to look into the Kirk Michael School land exchange agreement are calling on the public to submit their views.

The 3 person committee are looking to see if the land had been secured by January 2011, the manner in which negotiations were conducted and the value for money that was achieved.

The development, that would have seen 100 houses built on Douglas Road corner was recently turned down following an independent inspector's report.

Access to the estate became the sticking point, with the inspector saying a bypass would be needed for it to become a more viable prospect.

You can write to the Clerk of the Committee at Legislative buildings if you want to have your views heard.
