 
                            Trees are being illegally cut down in a forest in the North of the Island.
Ballaugh Forest has had a number of 'significant' ash trees cut down illegally and the timber removed - it's suspected for firewood.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says a number of Christmas trees were also felled and removed from the same location.
Andrew Sidebottom, the director of forestry, amenities and lands, says only appointed contractors can legally carry out felling in glens, plantations and public forests:
