Manx National Heritage is urging the public to protect the Island’s ‘special places’ after a number of recent fires.
The charity says it’s recently found the remains of a campfire at Close ny Chollagh, a protected Ancient Monument near Poyllvaaish on Scarlett.
Other incidents included a fire on Meayll Hill above Cregneash and a disposable barbecue being used at Cronk ny Merriu promontory fort in Santon.
It says lighting fires or barbecues on the historic land can damage wildlife habitats and destroy irreplaceable archaeological remains.
