Public submits hundreds of money-saving ideas

More than 270 money saving ideas have been put forward to the Isle of Man Government by the Manx public.

It's been less than a week since the SAVE project was launched - it's in a bid to find £25 million of savings. 

Members of the public, Tynwald members and civil servants are being encouraged to put forward their ideas. 

Those submitted so far include opening the Island up to 'euthanasia tourism', making Job Seekers Allowance a loan and reducing the number of MHKs. 

The latter is something that project leader, and Middle MHK, Bill Shimmins says he expected: 

Ideas can be submitted via an online portal on the government website - pop up events will also be held later this month:
